    The "Digger" has a couple of claims to fame in WW2, he played a lead role in Germany's first defeat on land at El Alemain and Japans first defeat at Milne Bay PNG.

    Not forgetting HMNZS Achilles role in the Battle of the River Plate.

    Militarily, for the UK, it's a shame the Oz Politicians withdrew the OZ Div from North Africa because after the battle for the Kokoda track and PNG the fine soldiers from the Oz Div fade from the battle lines from 1943 onwards. Bloody good soldiers.
