Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Trivial question, anyone recognise this....

  2. Lovely thankyou!
  3. How does a yank say Essex? They can't pronounce any other English counties. As for any welsh ones!! :)

Posted from the Navy Net mobile app (Android / iOS)
  4. That reminds of when the Airways reporting point Wrexham was changed on all the charts and the AIP to REXHAM. In my very short time at Preston RADAR, it took me days to work out where the Walls-eye was that the Pan Am and United drivers kept giving estimated times for. Wallasey must be such a tongue twister for the poor dears.
  5. Should have known it is Wrecsam
  6. Or just Shithole!!

    Its where I joined up!
  7. According to this site

It is the USS RANDOLPH on a shakedowns cruise in Chesapeake Bay 12 November 1944.

It also shows the official print number
