Any other writers out there?

Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Hi all,

Any other writers of military fiction out there?

I'm a writer myself, and am currently writing a novel.

I feel as though it is important for writers to come together and share their thoughts and ideas. Collaboration is key.

Feel free to PM me if you wish to know more about my novel, as I do not wish to disclose too much on an open forum.

I will however say, that it's a thriller and one to watch out for! ;)

  2. Many RR members are prolific writers, their work may be read on the backs of cubical doors in many places around the globe:tp::tp:

Yep, a member called "Greendeath" has written a couple of military fiction books, they're not to everyones liking but fair play, if it keeps him in beer tokens.

Send him a PM, dont know how often he pops by but go for it.

....I take it you've run out of ideas and need some inspiration, if so ask away, the lads on here will come out with a few storylines for you. ;)

  5. I remember a few years back we had a member who joined purely to push the books he had written or was writing.
Can't remember his name but he was a Brown Hatter who wrote Brown Hatter stories.
Can't understand why he joined RR:);-P

  6. Was his name Kilroy per chance ?

How many Books/Articles have you had published? Titles would be good.

  8. Hi everyone,

I have searched the forum, but have been unable to find an 'Introductions' thread, or at least something along those lines, which allows new members to introduce themselves. Ya know, tell a little bit about themselves, etc.

Cheers for the replies, will definitely PM those mentioned.

I should mention that I'm only 18 and as of yet haven't published my first novel (that, is a work-in-progress which I hope to publish.) And articles that I've written, have been for my high-school website - which, if you wish to check it out, is at this address: www.bonarlaw.nbed.nb.ca

I know, weird name... anyway, I also write (although not so much now) poetry which is published on the following sites. Just simply search for J Hawkins on hellopoetry, and hawky on poetfreak - and then click Poets.

    Trending poems — Hello Poetry
    Poetfreak - Share your poetry

Cheers for the replies once again. :D

    Hawky.

  13. No, but you may end up on the receiving end of good 'ol British military humour Royal Navy style. You may require a thick skin (ask SPB, he's both thick and skin).

  14. You'll get shouted at you will, I did.

  15. Hmmmmmmmm, poetry.

Are you like naval writers in as much as you have every afternoon off for "staff training"?
