  1. Hi all
I was wondering if there are any books or info one could read up on before my MA start date?
Medical/first aid books or otherwise, there are many books on the subject but would like to get the most relevant.
    Any info much appreciated.
  2. Thanks SJRM, good advice and will have a read at that book, checked it online and sounds good.
I have already read " Medic: Saving Lives - From Dunkirk to Afghanistan by John Nichol and Tony Rennell"
It was a quality read with a fair bit based on the Falklands conflict.

  3. Brufon and Elastoplast is all you need as an MA, plus where on the forehead to maskers an aspirin as a pussers cure all.
  4. The leaflet that comes with aspirin, ibruprofen and tubigrip!

Bugger, never read the post before mine!!!

  5. If you want some advice on what MAs actually do now, Google JSP999. Clinical Guidelines for Operations is a bit of a manual for medicine in a deployed setting. Not all of it is done by MAs alone although there are MAs at every echelon of care. Where it says "Role 1" read "MA on his/her own".
