Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. [align=justify]Hello everyone again

A few posts back I asked about my situation with getting my original medical documents from previous service and wait times I might expect. All the posters here on the newbie forums gave a very clear picture and helpful information (Special thanks to Ninja & Co).

Since i passed my psychometric I was intending to go as a Medical Assistant (General Service) but unfortunately I didn't score high enough on the test to get the position I wanted but I passed and was offered other career opportunities so I asked for Warfare Specialist (Surface Fleet).

Now with the wait I have been given, I don't want to say during my interview that I sat around my flat for god knows how long waiting (Even though i am doing physical training for Navy) and have decided to enrol in higher education coming August/September while I wait for further updates.

From what I seen and read, W.S involves a massive area from sonar to electronic communications etc would there be any educational courses in civvy street which would benefit me in this area and would generally help me prepare for Warfare Specialist?

I know nothing is set in stone and regardless if i pass my interview & medical I would like say that i was prepared. Any infomation and advice is much appreciated as always :)

Thank you for reading my post
