I meant he said he was in the warfare branch not a warfare specialist, sorry if I put that. I think he did say that was what he was originally before he got into Intel.
Would've been an EW if he then went onto intel/IA definetly not an AWT/AWW/UW/MW. Then as I said it would've had to be a billet that required him to have needed to do AAC as not all intel/IA's do it. So again not 100% likely the opportunity there.

Yeah I'm also looking at getting my green lid at some point. I'm planning on doing a couple of years in the reserves (Above water Force protection) before transferring to warfare specialist full time ... Anyways of doing this and potentially getting my lid?
Cheers

Best advice so far if you want to have a green lid and spend a few years in the reserves doing green type things. The medics who do it all seem to have a good time.

Do recruits at Raleigh with a green lid get to wear it (if they choose to)? I know at BRNC you could, but Raleigh might be different. It attracted a little bit of attention from the staff mind you...

I would do ... Problem(s) is I've applied for the navy reserve. And, I'm not yet fit enough. The plans always been to go into 148 in 29 commando via warfare (comms) but I've always wanted to go into Intel. So I'm kinda stuck.

If you aint fit enough for the RN reserves then no way you will be fit enough for the Royal Marines.

Intel, WTF?

Intelligence as in J2 is only abbreviated to 'Intel' in the US Forces and Call of Duty. And by big timers who don't know better and some big and small timers who should know better.

Don't tell me Navy News are doing it. It was they who started calling sprogs 'rookies'.

I haven't been to Afghanistan but I wager that its slang/abbreviated name isn't any of the
Mark Powell isms ( check him out on ARRSEpedia under ' Walts' ) used in this thread.

As you seem to know, is "Intel" the same as a NAAFI buzz, or is it closer to a "gen dit" ;)

No I meant the Royal Marines ... As that's what we were talking about?! I've completed my fitness tests for the RNR... You were talking about the RMC.

I know a company intelligence officer in the infantry and Him and his recce platoon refer to the data they collect as Intel. The Americans don't use that term as far as I know and i wouldn't know about call of duty. Speak to anyone who works in Intel and they'll tell you. Imagine a yank trying to say Intel? It wouldn't roll off the tongue.

Right, I knew the name. I guess they're a lot of terms used? My brother refers to it as Intel, the RM seem to use information and exploitation, etc. to be fair most of my knowledge is on the army and their terms.

It was always called "get the **** out of the room" in RC South when I was there.
