Aircraft controller aircrew medical

Hello

I'm applying as an aircraft controller and have been given a date for an aircrew medical at RAF Cranwell next month. I passed the standard navy medical in January.

Up until 2001, I was prescribed an inhaler for mild asthma and have read that this will result in failure at the aircrew medical. Are the medical standards exactly the same for all roles (e.g. do exactly the same medical standards need to be met by both a prospective pilot and aircraft controller)?

If the answer to that question is yes - and I do indeed fail - what is the likely outcome? Will I be invited to choose a different role?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks a lot.

As expected, my career adviser said that because he's not medically qualified he can't really tell me. Obviously I'll just go and hope to pass.
I just wonder: has anyone on here passed an aircrew medical - or known anybody who passed an aircrew medical - despite having been prescribed an inhaler in the past?
Thanks.
