AIB and aircrew medical

Hi all! I passed my FATs on Monday and have received AIB dates in December. I know I will need an aircrew medical at some point but does this have to happen before AIB or would it just have to happen before starting training? Thanks!

You'll have one after the AIB and before an offer is made for pilot/observer. The medical is valid for one year, so depending on when you enter Dartmouth etc you may have another before or during BRNC and then the same time each year for the rest of your aircrew career.

The initial one is a longer affair with body measurements, EEG etc. This only normally happens once and subsequent medicals are a lot quicker.
