    Alright guys,
New here so go easy :)

Ive applied, and hoping to go in as an AET. I was wondering if there are any current or ex - serving AET's that could tell me a bit more about every day life and the competition with other trades?

Also, ive been reading about specialist training and the maths that goes with it, I have a grade C intermediate 2 maths, will this be sufficent enough to at least get me started when im at sultan as i intend to get my head in the books when im down there anyway ?

All going well, my recruiter said i should have a 6month waiting time from sitting my test to going to raleigh, Starting in march / April hopefully.

All for now, and sorry if i sound like a right pr*t :)
    Thanks in advance.

No real competition between trades, we all put up with each other. The grubbers and the greenies did all the work, the bombheads ran the coffee boat and the pinkies got early chops.

    What is a grade C intermediate 2?

In that case while it may be OK for AET you will need to improve your understanding of Maths for LAET and beyond

Have you sat your RT test yet?

I sat mine for AET on the 17th June and my start date is 14th March 2010, so i would'nt get your hopes up too much for a start date in March.

No not exactly, a GSCE is the equivelant to a scottish standard grade. intermediate 2 is the next level up from that :)

No ive not sat my RT yet, but as my recruiter said, From sitting tht i should be expecting a 6month waiting list to starting, but as you say i shouldnt get my hopes up. im waiting on my date for my RT comming in, should get it this week sometime.

I dont mean to sound like an idiot, but could anyone tell me the nicknames, e.g Greenie etc :D

I sat my RT in August of last year and I've got my Medical, Physical and Interview on wednesday, so does anybody have any idea how long roughly it would take before I went to Raleigh assuming I pass everything on Wednesday?

Will the fact that I sat my RT last August affect my entry dates?

So you sat your RT in August 2008? Can i ask why there has been a 14 month wait untill your medical etc?

I would'nt of thought it would affect your application as i believe it is valid for 3 years.

I assume as you have posted this in a thread titled AET thats what your applying for, if so the waiting time is roughly 6-8 months taking into account that you pass all further tests required.

For me it has been a 9 month wait from RT untill my start date.

Well I started the process at the end of my first year of sixth form so I had to wait a year to finish school before I could join anyway and I had to wait until September of this year to be 4 years clear of Asthma treatment so I could pass the medical.

Yes, I am applying for AET.

And you're right there's no problem with my RT.

    Thanks for the info
