Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. When in and trained can you change aircraft if you get bored of fixing one type? Or are you stuck with your original specialisation?

  2. Trust me when you master one, you will not want to move!!!!

I never mastered any, thats why I worked on 5 different types:

    Wessex
    Sea King
    Canberra
    Sea Harrier
    Crab Harrier

  3. No fixed wing A/C to change to????? just the one !!! 3/ Choppers!! IIRC at pres

  4. I was a Buccaneer man however I also worked on many other types including a draft to Lossiemouths Station Flight, so Venoms, Vampires, Sea Hawks and the Sea prince, not forgetting the old Tiger Moth, no radio but a 1961 amplifier for intercom.
Ended my time on Lynx helicopters.

  5. Started on Whirlwinds, then Wessex, 1's 3's and 5's. Finished on the Wasp.

So I figure from previous posts you can work out you can change aircraft type during your career.
