The responses on this thread have been reported and on review, they could be a little less acerbic and bit more pertinent to the question being asked.
The OP is a relative of the person being asking about and not the person themselves, so their use of grammar and punctuation is not relevant, nor is it necessarily a reflection of the individual. Commenting on that was not necessary. This was a genuine concern looking for support and advice - crayoning is frowned upon.
The question was - can this person be binned if they are almost through to passing out? Answer - of course. Despite the money spent to date and the willingness of the RN to help them get through, if they do not meet the stated requirements after using up all the avenues for staying on, then the gate is that way. The forces do not take almost-good-enough just because of the level of investment to date. But you can be sure that the failure will be fed back to the AFCOs and recruitment teams to ensure all effort had been made to screen prospective candidates effectively to reduce that possibility in future.
However, this is an unofficial site and none of us are in the position to be able to answer the question because we do not know the details and most of us are out of touch anyway. The lad needs to discuss this with his staff - they will give good, current advice on what to do and will then be aware now of his concerns so they can give him guidance and support. They will help, but they won't do favours. And you don't get bumped on a single failure, but multiple ones, well . . .
