Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Help from anyone - daughter started initial officer training and has been NFA med discharge for issue relating to (unproven) wheat intolerance. Did have a fainting episode earlier in year but not proven that this was related to exercise and wheat? What are the chances of a route of appeal? Any advice
  2. What do you mean by unproven wheat intolerance? There must have been something which led to that suggestion.
  3. Medical guidance notes that are given to every applicant clearly states:

    Medical conditions that preclude entry.......

Abdominal and diestive disorders, including diet...... requirement for specific dietary restriction.

If this has only come to light now, she does not meet the medical requirements for service.
