acl reconstruction

Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I have just been informed that my ACL reconstruction will bar me entry into the rn, the careers officer said I could appeal the decision, just wondering what the likelihood of an appeal being successful is? Any information or related stories would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to hear of your circumstances.

Hate to be a pessimist, but I don't see what you can appeal against. ACL reconstruction is a non-negotiable single service policy unfortunately - you either had this procedure or you didn't. The Senior Medical Officer ain't going to say "Oh, go on, since you asked nicely", unfortunately.

Word on the street is that the Army may well be revising their policy & following the Navy lead, but if you are swift, it maybe worth investigating whether it is a bar to entry in the Army.

    Good luck.
  3. I think my mate just got medically rejected for the Army as an Officer because of ACL reconstruction.
