Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Blimey thats a blast from the past. I remember pleading with my mum to be able to stay up and watch that.

  2. I was on the Rothesay and we played HMS Boadacia.
The opening shot might be of our Mk 10 motars but can't be sure.

We had a few minor roles, lots of luvyes crawling all over the ship.

  3. Now I can see why I used to feel queasy living in the For'd P.O.'s mess on Arethusa in '70/'71

  4. cooo i had almost forgotten that gem.

  5. Fcuking 'ell, I didn't realise I was that old.

  6. In the early 1970s every time we sailed from a U.K. port that theme tune was played from the bridge. :?

Then again it might have been have been the Birkenhead ferry, it was that long ago.

  7. HMS Hero F42 for a time played by Phoebe.

  8. Unless the RM band was in a sarcastic mood and played
"Can't live, if living is without you" as you deployed to the FES for 18 months. 8O

  9. It can't be true - the OOD was an officer. Everyone knows that the OOD is always a Chief!
