A little tune for you............

Thanks @higthepig. I heard Noel Murphy sing this in a North London pub in the late 60s. I think some people reckon he wrote it himself, but others dispute it. Whatever, it's a cracking version of the Hofnung record made from his monologue at the Oxford Union and popular in the 60s, and the tune is very similar to "Where the Praties Grow".

In my dotage, I was ( until Covid ) playing guitar and singing at care homes on the Isle of Wight for a local charity, and I found that this one usually got a good reaction from residents - even the significant number of those with various forms of dementia. The charity has, however, managed to get some of us performers to record versions of their songs which they have provided to the care homes via YouTube. "Paddy and the Bricks", sometimes called "The Irish Sick Note," was one of them. Hopefully, we'll get back to performing live in due course. :)

And here's one I did earlier........

Not guitar, but mandoline. (and just audio)
Next time I visit South Island a bit busy atm I will expect you to bring mandoline along to D's D to entertain me and Bob , maybe @BOOTWU could fashion a mouthpiece for his walking stick and accompany you.
I of course will attract the ladies so should have a good audience. :)

The Corries also reprised it; along with a fair bit of Dublinners ( sic ?) stuff.

@wrightsparker. Can’t get your mandolin piece to play sadly. May be Big Brother here come to think of it.

The late Cyril Tawney sang "Nobby Hall". This is my version, again in MP4 format because I'm still trying to get my head around various ways of recording. My PC's Voice Recorder produces a version in M4A ( whatever that is) but using the search function I converted it to MP4.

Grateful for advice from anyone with modern technical knowledge as to how I could do it better.
When I have produced songs ( with video) for the charity I work for, I have simply used the camera on my phone and e-mailed the file to myself. That can cause problems because of the size of the file.

However, if I manage to save a file in the phone's Gallery, I have then been able to send to the charity via WhatsApp.

Whatever, I would like to dedicate this song to Norman.
