A Hello to Rumration

A big hello to everyone here on Rumration.

Like many people before me, I have been checking in and out of this site for a while before actually making a post. I have not really found it neccesary to make a post before, as many questions I have had have been helpfully asked and answered by other users of this site. (If you search hard enough that is)

So to introduce myself briefly.

I am a 25 year old male from Lincolnshire. I am joining the Royal Navy as a Seaman Specialist.

I will be attending my RNAC on the 28th of April - 1st May and hope to head of down to HMS Raleigh in September of this year. So if there are any other people on a similar date schedule it would be great to here from you.

Thought I would say a quick hello and introduce myself to you all (which I have done) and to say a thankyou to everyone who supports this site and to anyone who has answered my questions, albiet indirectly.

Cheers, Dutch.

Welcome Dutch,

It's good to see someone who can actually write, spell and punctuate. Especially on the Newbies forum and with no bone questions either. Great first post, welcome aboard.

BTW you're not Norman post lobotomy are you? :farao:

Welcome to the site Dutch. I can see you're able to spell and you don't appear to suffer from excess drooling.

Fancy becoming a CT instead? :D

Good to see someone else on here from Lincolnshire!
Welcome :p
While I'm not posting from Lincolnshire it is where my family roots are located (Scampton, long before the Crabs arrived, on one side and Louth on t'other) - seems to me as if most of the current generation of my family have fled the country, let alone the county! :)

Dutch ... welcome aboard yellow-belly :)

Hello Dutch. Hope you stick around to keep us updated on your progress and don't disappear off the face of the earth like Credders. Good luck.

(Come back Credders. All is forgiven.)

Welcome on board Dutch. With your writing skills entering as a Seaman really is a total waste of your talent. Now becoming a Communicator is another thing altogether. Why join the dab-dabs when you can become part of the elite?

Better say "hello" to Dutch as he might think I'm a rasist because he comes from Lincolnshire!! Welcome and good luck to you.... :thumright:

Hello Dutch.
Good to see somebody who can spell and not be a complete plank (like me???) when posting!

Navy life will suit you if you are prepared to learn that Raleigh is not the 'real Navy'.
Life begins at Raleigh an ddevelops from there - you will get out what you are prepared to put in.

Who said anything about being a Communicator?

CIS and CT do entirely different roles.

G_R, well spotted on the typos  -I'm amazed that someone has joined the site and constructed a (for the most part excluding the typo's :D ) coherent introduction!

What's the equivalent of an RO? CT perhaps?
