Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I was going to post this in the resettlement forum, but I've realised that this is a career path that is uniquely suited to the elite brotherhood of the submarine service. Get the paperwork started for those green cards, boys!

  6. Anyone interested in a Chief Eng job in Bristol?
It took me 11 years to get a job back in Guzz so I cannot be arsed with the hassle of working away from home

I am a Defence and Nuclear Recruitment Specialist and have come across your details on our database. I thought I would get in touch as I have had a new requirement come through for a Chief Systems Engineer to work with my defence client in Bristol on a permanent basis.

The requirement is for a Chief Engineer/Systems Engineer to work within a small team providing advice, guidance and support to the Ministry of Defence regarding development and implementation of its technical management arrangements and governance process. These are implemented on future development programmes as well as in-service support programmes.

    Key Responsibilities

    · Provision of advice and guidance to the MoD regarding their technical management arrangements and technical governance process
    · Development of technical strategy in conjunction with, or on behalf of, our MoD customer
    · Production of reports, advice notes or business processes
    · Delivery of training associated with implementation of management arrangements

    Role Responsibilities

    · Management level delivery experience of ‘large and complex’ multi discipline engineering development programmes (ideally in a ‘Chief Engineer’ role)
    · Experience and knowledge of contemporary engineering management best practice from complementary industries and professional bodies (e.g. Aerospace & Defence)
    · Specific experience of all stages of platform development lifecycle. Predominately from initial concept, through to post-delivery user approval/acceptance
    · Chartered Engineer, ideally with CSEP, and possessing excellent consultancy and communication skills

They are currently offering an attractive salary of £60K + Full range of benefits + Bonus + Relocation package if required.

Would this be of interest or would you know anyone who would be interested in a opportunity like this?

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Kind Regards
