Reservist SF personnel, including the first female killed on Ops, travelling in a light-armoured Land Rover, apparently...

RIP, people.

7. It's a sad state of affairs when we have to rely on reserves anyway, let alone have these people sadly lose their lives to cowards.
RIP.

8. Well that could be regarded as what the forces have reserves for, not that it diminishes the loss and I would say that most reservists while not wanting to become casualties do want to do their part.

That aside reservists or regulars this is sad news indeed, we seem to be having a bad spell at present.

9. RIP Guys and Gal.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Lest we Forget

10. A sad day for such a small community.

The Pilgrims

We are the Pilgrims, Master
We shall go always a little further,
It may be beyond the last blue mountain barred with snow,
Across that angry or glimmering sea …

11. My thoughts go to the families of the four that have been lost. The ultimate sacrifice has been made. Rest peacefully.

12. Sadly Sarah Bryant is from Carlisle, what I don't understand is she was named on our local news last night 6pm, yet the MOD hasn't released the names.

RIP

Some editing and chopping. Kindly don't sully condolence threads and the dead by ranting at politicians (you can do that elsewhere) and idiotic suggestions that we target the non combatants.

16. A sad end to such young lives.

Rest in Peace

Thanks for the time and commitment you gave so others could be free.

17. With rue my heart is laden
For golden friends I had,
For many a rose-lipt maiden
And many a lightfoot lad.

By brooks too broad for leaping
The lightfoot boys are laid;
The rose-lipt girls are sleeping
In fields where roses fade.

RIP
