They are looking for a person who is positive, innovative, creative, enjoys solving tough problems and working on multi-disciplinary teams. They have an opening for a CAD/GIS Analyst. There will be frequent travel required nationally, but will be for short periods of time. There will be the possibility of Government Vetting for some of the clients.
    POSITION SUMMARY:
    The CAD and GIS Analyst will work under the direction of the Managing Director in support of the development of CAD and GIS data and systems, and supports the client with proficient/expert AutoCAD, Revit, and  ArcGIS skills.  The duties include a wide variety of CAD and GIS data processing, CAD to GIS data conversion, geocoding, analysis, and cartographic presentation tasks in a dynamic work environment.  The analyst is also responsible for data maintenance.
     
    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
    Developing architectural floor plans in AutoDesk Revit
    Importing and validating CAD floor plans
    Converting CAD floor plans to GIS data models
    ·        Identify, scale, and orient geodetic points, elevations, and other planimetric or topographic features, applying standard mathematical formulae.
    ·        Revise existing maps and charts, making all necessary corrections and adjustments.
    ·        Inspect final compositions to ensure completeness and accuracy.
    ·        Determine map content and layout, as well as production specifications such as scale, size, projection, and colours, and direct production to ensure that specifications are followed.
    ·        Examine and analyse data from ground surveys, reports, photographs, and satellite images to prepare topographic maps, aerial-photograph mosaics, and related charts.
    ·        Build and update digital databases.
    ·        Check all layers of maps in order to ensure accuracy, identifying and marking errors and making corrections.
    ·        Monitor mapping work and the updating of maps in order to ensure accuracy, the inclusion of new and/or changed information, and compliance with rules and regulations.
    ·        Identify and compile database information in order to create maps in response to requests.
    ·        Compare features and with images from photographs, old maps, and other reference materials in order to verify the accuracy of their identification.
     
    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Participate in cross-functional teams related to projects
    Confer with others to design systems and obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
    Analyse user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
    Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met
    Creatively identify, prototype and test technical solutions to business problems.
    Hands on evaluation of new products and tools.
    Monitoring performance of programs after implementation
    Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job
    Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources
    Analysing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems
    Communicating with the Software Development Team in the US, Project Managers, peers, and clients to provide information in written form, e-mail, in person, or via telephone.
    Identifying information by categorising, estimating, recognising differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
    Identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
    Compiling, coding, categorising, calculating, auditing, or verifying information or data.
    Identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions to problems.
    Identifying complex problems and implementing solutions.
    Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
    Determining causes of operating errors and deciding on the best actions to correct them.
    Generating or adapting equipment and technology to serve user needs.
    Analysing needs and product requirements to create a design.
    Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.

     
     
    QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: 
    ·        2-3 years experience working with CAD and GIS data and systems. A degree in Spatial Sciences or a related course of study.
    ·        Strong communication skills.
    ·        Experience using AutoCAD, AutoDesk Revit, and ESRI’s ArcGIS software for data creation, editing, loading, migration, and high quality cartography.
    ·        Experience with AutoDesk and ESRI server software.
    ·        Strong end-user relational database management skills (SQL).
    ·        Strong spatial analysis and data manipulation skills. Desire for experience with 2.5 and 3D.
    ·        Experience with related technologies such as GPS, image processing, CAD and mobile computing.
    ·        Experience using ESRI’s GeoCoding technologies.
    ·        Experience with Ordnance Survey GIS Standards and Systems.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Some pushing or pulling of office equipment across carpeted surfaces
    Lifting and maneuvering of supplies, materials, chairs, tables and/or folding tables weighing up to 25 pounds. Occasional stooping, reaching, pushing, twisting, pulling and standing.
    Manipulating equipment (manual dexterity) such as computer keyboard/mouse and a variety of office equipment.
