  16. No wonder its a sore topic mate - didn't the pilots and other ranks who took part in the mission get a gong? All but the Bootnecks that is!!

    Im not taking anything away from them because their medal is thoroughly deserved, but given the fact that the lads were completely in un-chartered territory on this mission, to not be formal recognised is scandalous!!

  18. yea the pilot got a DFC and the army commando got a medal, but the two bootnecks didnt even get MID. of course im not taking anything away from the rest of the men who were in/on the apaches, i just think that despite the enormous bravery exhibited that day, and all the media coverage of the event its surprising that the bootnecks weren't recognised for their actions
