And without taking away from what they have achieved but that picture just dosent look gay enough. Mostly Royal Marine Bispham
Any way congrats lads.
I salute their bravery.
Well done guys. BZ
BZ to them. Completely deserved.
Wasn't Mne Curry the one from Commando on the Front Line? RIP to him.
Top news. BZ Royal, what seaweed said about the Apache job.
Was tested but not a patch on these guys respect and condolences to all and familys
Yea, Think it was Troop Commander Bertie Kerr's section, RIP Tom Curry
Yeah the fooking massive lad they called vinders
very sore topic for us who were in zulu coy in garmsir
No wonder its a sore topic mate - didn't the pilots and other ranks who took part in the mission get a gong? All but the Bootnecks that is!!
Im not taking anything away from them because their medal is thoroughly deserved, but given the fact that the lads were completely in un-chartered territory on this mission, to not be formal recognised is scandalous!!
You can watch video from the presentation ceremony at thisisplymouth
yea the pilot got a DFC and the army commando got a medal, but the two bootnecks didnt even get MID. of course im not taking anything away from the rest of the men who were in/on the apaches, i just think that despite the enormous bravery exhibited that day, and all the media coverage of the event its surprising that the bootnecks weren't recognised for their actions
