My client is a world leader in the production of “state of the art” fire protection and safety systems for commercial and military aviation, and for commercial and military ground vehicle applications.
 
Role
Manage all aspects of the internal and external customer relationship, relating to my clients Military Vehicle Business. Set and report on an individual / team targets to support company goals and achieve sales, orders and EBIT targets. You will be reporting to the General Managers.
 
Main Objective
To ensure achievement of the military sales order and EBIT budgets, and to determine company strategy as defined in the medium term plan.
 
Key Responsibilities
·         Set and achieve order intake targets (while maintaining margin requirements)
·         Manage all aspects of internal and external customer expectations with a view to improve customer satisfaction
·         Set, monitor and implement actions as required to ensure individual and team targets are met to support achievement of Company goals and objectives
·         Work with General Managers to advance European approach/strategy on military vehicles
·         Create and implement plans as required to support the medium term plan, Burndown and company targets
·         Preparation of and analysis of markets within territory
·         Preparation/presentation of proposals in response to OE requirements
·         Review and negotiate business terms and conditions in line with HS/UTC standards and as required by the business
·         Maintain existing customer base, exploit existing opportunities and develop new business where possible
·         Provide regular feedback and monthly status report on customer business and new initiatives (growth)
·         Complete forecasting activities as required
·         Liaising with Production, engineering and other departments as necessary to ensure internal and external customer needs are met
·         Undertake ACE activities as required by the business to continue to progress through the ACE levels
·         Ensure adhere to all EH&S requirements on an ongoing basis
·         Achieve margin and conversion targets
·         Visit customers and create visit reports in a timely fashion
Any other activity as deemed necessary by the organisation/KAD/HS within capabilities
 
Performance Standards
·         Develop, agree and effectively implement sales strategies and plans
·         Report/communicate progress on a regular basis (minimum monthly)
·         Achieve timely completion of key milestones
·         Monitor resources/costs as required
·         Able to undertake travel, within and outside of UK, as required (some weekends and extended trips)
·         Effective communication skills, able to work with all levels of staff within the organisation
·         Able to manage projects as required
 
 
Skills/Experience
·         PC Literate (email, excel, powerpoint and word)
·         Effective communication skills, including presentation skills, written skills and numerical analysis
·         Relevant Technical qualification/experience (engineering based degree/HND, etc0
·         Sales & negotiation experience
·         Understanding of contracts, contractual requirements, tender/bid processes
·         Strong experience of military vehicles/armed forces environment
Good time management, strong attention to details and well organised
 
 
This position is responsible for approx £4-5m of sales. Territories covered; UK, Middle East and Asia.
