That's interesting. I served on her and had no idea the for'd funnel was a dummy. She was certainly no greyhound.

Escorted Maidstone from Freemantle to Sydney in April 1945, she had a job getting off the carnation milk tins and I believe a number of the ships company deserted as they had married Aussie girls. After leaving Freemantle, she exercised all her guns at a flown target, all the crap fell on the escorting frigatesstern. She was also had a chocolate hull and cream funnels. 'Jakey'
