Discuss The Gucci kit thread. in Travel & The Great Outdoors on Navy Net; I'm lusting after a Haglofs Zensor gonk bag at the moment, although I also fancy the Softy one which is cheaper. Probably best to er on the side of caution and get both....

Not in the shop in Exeter, so I can only presume that it's done shop by shop - it's common knowledge at CTCRM that to get the full 20% you need the RNRMMC Membership, your ID card only gets 10% at a push
Give a man a fish and he'll feed his family for a day,
teach a man to fish and he'll sit round on a boat all day drinking beer.

There is of course far more benefit than a Cotswold discout to being in the RNRMMC.

As for kit, you can't beat a titanium Spork. (Google it).

I have a plastic dog food spoon with a dog handle, it rules and can steal half someone elses scran with one snidey scoop.

Franchise possibly? Not sure? We def got 20% as the SEO came down the office and said we have £5000 to spend on the team "by yesterday". Called CC and got 20%. Since then always got 20%.

Either way some good shit in the shop.

As previously mentioned, I'm a big fan of the current issue DPM basha and Goretex bivvy bag, coupled with a decent gonk bag and a roll mat or hammock, I reckon it's a pukka, lightweight sleeping system and I use it for all my adventures. Unless I'm with the family, I never use a tent.

I'm also very keen on the arctic issue Pussers socks, they are a cream colour as opposed to black and are a bit thicker and softer. They are hard to come by but worth the effort.

ortlieb waterproof canoe bags are a must and can be ordered through the stores system if you know the right places to look.

I've also managed to get my hands on some utter tat, stuff which has no place in my adventure cave, yet I hang on to none the less. I have a pair of unused issue gaiters, I've never understood the need for these, they remind me of the Scouts. I also have some issue Goretex mittens which ensure you have the dexterity of a rhino, I suppose they might come in handy as emergency gloves in a survival situation, but that's about it. The worst by far is the Falklands style hat with the ear flaps. The lining is the itchiest, nastiest material known to man and it is too big and bulky to fit in a pocket, I hate it.
Arctic socks, not hard to get hold of in our house. Mrs L wears them round the house instead of slippers. It's strangely erotic... errr yeah, where was I... Yes, ortlieb canoe bags are special and should be stroked at every opportunity.

Plastic!? I fondly recall on my first weekend ex, our DS walking around and snapping the racing spoons of everyone who'd been foolish enough to bring one that wasn't made of stainless steel.

I've got a deep Victorian serving spoon, handle shortened, wrapped in HBM with a lanyard securing it to my person.

This is true, but last time I checked we are in the UK. Horses for courses I suppose.

I've got a Snugpak Softie maggot and it's fucking ace. Combined with the bivvi bag, i've yet to be taters in the field.

And as for sporks, no no no no. Ghey.
    Targets will fall when hit....
