Old skool tropical trousers all the way. Keep your calfs warm with decent socks and your bollox warm with cycling shorts.

Tropics. Got them too. I have an epic set of bright orange ones. They would be my second choice. The only reason i mentioned the windproof tousers is because they were given to me by Fiji Bob.

Concur with MLP flat ground vital for Thermarest. I have four of them but my favourite is the Thermarest Guide Lite it's errr lighter.... (everything weighs something).

Loved my Petzl Tikka which unexpectly spontaneously collapsed into several pieces following years of loyal service; I'm a broken man without it and am struggling to get back out there and find somebody, I mean something, to replace it.

Disappointed that North Face has become the brand of the moment as it keeps the prices high. karrimor on the other hand can't be given away which has resulted in some true bargains, espcially on the shoe front.

Still have my MSR Whisperlite 20 years old and going strong.

Snugpak Softie 6 for those travel light, freeze at night moments.

Wild Country Super Nova tent, 3 man home from home.

I'm with MLP, spend right once and it lasts for years.

I had some seal skinz but I'm a bit weird with gloves, my circulation must be shit as I feel gloves isolate my fingers more and are of little benefit to me. I have a pair of black mechanix wear gloves which have done alright for a while, cheap too.

I do have a seal skinz hat too, which is mega.

Concur. It's one of the best things i've got.

As for this Icebreaker stuff, it's 100% Marino wool and it's fantastic kit.

Negative, you will get some discount but not the full 20%
Give a man a fish and he'll feed his family for a day,
teach a man to fish and he'll sit round on a boat all day drinking beer.

That's what I go to sainsburys in. Coupled with a steely glare and a pained sigh every time I pass the meat aisle it sets the milfs quims into bubbling spasms.

I also tell the check out girls about the time I sank a pirate ship by lobbing a fridge at them.
