Women are allowed to apply now mate, but none have passed the course thus far. They are role restricted too so not allowed to do the Forward elements.

Re: STC Branch, details and guidance
OK thanks for that. The problem with finding out about these different roles is that they are (obviously) so hush hush. Didn't MLP just say that they have started taking women as well though? Good luck to anyone going for this, definitly for people who like a challenge!

Re: STC Branch, details and guidance
Good to see that they've finally made this a branch and not an adqual- hopefully that should mean there are more volunteers. Surprised they didn't consider just recatting all the ex ship's divers though- would have thought the personal qualities required for both were similar...

Re: STC Branch, details and guidance
I honestly think I wouldn't be able to pass the phys side. I'm currently working to be at the male levels but can't see myself making 11.7 on the bleep test. It does sound interesting though and more intense than a lot of roles.

O boy, im in the process of going for divers and all ready commando trained and looking foward to it and ''get to blow shit up'' and now MLP you bring this role and it seems you get to ''blow bigger shit up''.
As for the lad that wanted to know about the job ref working with the int services, i have recently a friend you just passed the selection for one of them (i wont say names etc) and still keep in touch with him. Not so much physical, as every one that goes in to that branch should have a good level of fitness but very mental driven. But you will get to hear about all the sneaky beaky roles once you have passed out.We are the most powerful military force in the history of man. Every fight is our fight. Because what happens over here matters over there. We don't get to sit one out. Learning to use the tools of modern warfare is the difference between the prospering of your people, and utter destruction. We can't give you freedom. But we can give you the know-how to acquire it. And that, my friends, is worth more than a whole army base of steel.

Maybe you can join forces with that lad that did his PEDA, and had to make up his mind by today. He mentioned that he did not want to go to any hostile places.
