Ageist?
How times have changed - glad I got out/left prior to rum ration disappearing - to us that was an act of PC but it didn't mean what it does now!!
My number issued in 1957 was P/M972*** (Writer) - it was either Pompey, Guz or Chatham with Lee for FAA.
All of the ships and most of the shore bases I knew have gone - not sure I'd join up today
