When I was a child I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child.
When I became a man I joined Rum Ration, it was a natural progression.
    But with swearing.

Wanted to write something witty and profound, but couldn’t be bothered.

Looking at some of these numbers makes me feel young again, only wish the body would agree with me?

Do they really, in these PC times have different numbers for male and female ratings?

How times have changed - glad I got out/left prior to rum ration disappearing - to us that was an act of PC but it didn't mean what it does now!!
My number issued in 1957 was P/M972*** (Writer) - it was either Pompey, Guz or Chatham with Lee for FAA.
All of the ships and most of the shore bases I knew have gone - not sure I'd join up today
