Iam deciding between ETME and Warfare Tactical. My civvy skills and knowledge would would work very well with the ETME branch Ive been told. However Iam very drawn to the warfare branch as Iam keen to be involved in the command and control of either the ship or boat. Iam a decisive person and feel I work well leading a group of colleagues. I want the extra responsibility and pressure that I feel the tactical branch brings.
I may be talking complete rubbish though as I realise I don't have any first hand experience yet!!
Has anyone got first experience as a tactical rating? Day to day life and responsibilities? Also how does anyone feel the chances are of fast promotion being effected in these two branches?? One better than other? Any difference between boats and ships??
May not be a significant difference, but would be good to hear someones first hand experience!
Thanks for your help lads!!

And, please, for fcuk sake stop going on about fast promotion. If you want to join as an officer then do it, if you are too old for warfare then choose the branch that will let you in, if not then join as a rating and take it as it comes. Promotion can be 'fast' but whether it will be fast enough for you will remain to be sen (IF you get in the RN)

Give a man a fish and he'll feed his family for a day,
teach a man to fish and he'll sit round on a boat all day drinking beer.

Apologies to both for my grammar and questions on promotion. Where else is a new recruit supposed to ask these questions? Why should someone have to actually join first before finding out about his full future career options and prospects?
Didn't mean to come across as an annoying twat!! LOL!
Anyway, thank you all for your help and advice everyone.

A padre doesnt need to sit the RT because god has told them everything! Or maybe he hasnt and their whole life is a sham but everybody is too scared to say anything because it is a cult! In centuries to come mankind will look back on religion and piss themselves laughing! Anyway back to BR3-Sorry I dont know!

Then again, they've had a pay freeze too, bless:
