I have a great deal of respect for the Royal Marines, made even more so since Daddykins was one for 25 years. However, your opinion of the right to capitalisation is neither here, nor there, regarding grammatical correctness and certainly does not entitle you to correct another's writing when you're wrong. By all means use a capital letter if you feel so inclined, but don't propose it as the right way to do things.

Daddykins obviously didn't instil enough respect for Royal Marines into you.
