I wonder - now its been proved we need to be able to bomb things 8000 miles away from time to time - are we still capable
now the Vulcans are done for?
Have to agree about the Vulcan - very majestic aircraft and what a credit to the designer that they could achieve this
with tech that old.

There is an argument that those munitions were needed for an effect on a particular target - but its not verified or backed up by anything. So, in the absence of a rational explanation you could call that mission Black Buck X, serving solely to reinforce in the publics mind the justification for the airforce. If you were a cynic, of course.The only Life lesson, "Being right is irrelevant".
