Hmm ... cost of keeping a chopper in the air then firing off a number of cannon rounds to sink a skiff ... couldn't the boarding crew just have taken the pirates into custody and left a small charge of semtex on board ... boom ... no more skiff! ... a damn sight cheaper!

Be cheaper just putting a few 5.56 rounds through it but not very good for dramatic effect if you want to get any PR out of it.

On an entirely different tack- I once had a bet with another shooting buddy over who could shoot the smallest animal with the largest rifle. My mate won, by shooting a squirrel with a .458 Lott (elephant killing man cannon). My rabbit with .338 came a distant second. Gutted.

It also illustrates how I am comfortable killing for fun (newbies beware).
