Hello.

anywho a bit bored and, i've just watched the film and was struck by the part at the beginning when the british sailors start dancing with his girlfriend and he ends up battered them in a epic fight scene (no doubt glammed up for hollywood) and ''puncturing'' one of the poor sailers lungs.

Apparently he had to flee hong kong because of the incident.

Question i'm interested in, is there any truth behind this? does anyone know of any sailors that got bashed in hong kong in the late 50's? was in common for sailors to get into scraps with locals in the older days??
