Flagdeck, I refer to 'going ashore' from establishment or ship and use 'run ashore'. I punctuate questions with a question mark and in my shiny new world, so do communicators.

On topic: the problem as some have alluded to is, 'lads' be they civilians or servicemen in a large group and drinking on an empty head. The uniform doesn't guarantee good behaviour and respect for other punters. The bar management may feel that the obvious presence of servicemen may be bad for business as the dancefloor and bar area start to resemble a wild life documentary, young males squaring up, cock waving, etc. Older guys of all ranks and rates are more likely to avoid the 'lads' haunts and behave or take the buffoon in their ranks outside.

Plenty of pubs have no football colours rules, others are only open to those over 21 or even 25. The management reserve the right to refuse admission and they don't need to give a reason. Your service is not a master key or a frequent flyer gold card.

I think it's because they don't like northerners Wrecker.

    Seems reasonable to me.

Err, and I've got friends of northern origin, whatever the fuck that means, so don't be nasty to me.

Non of us are of 'white origin'.

If you mean black or Asian or similar, just say so. Using extra unnecessary words doesn't make you appear clever.

    As you have demonstrated.

One doesn't need to be a serviceman to get abused in the street, refused credit, turned away from your kids' school due to an individual or corporate prejudice and a lot worse.

It's 'rig' or 'uniform' to me. I'm talented enough to be bilingual.....

...........but have yet to master jibberish.
