I didn't attend his funeral but wrote a nice letter saying I approved of it.
In a fraction of a second they are projected into eternity and will never possess a final resting home.
They have graves without bodies, they are an exceptional breed of people....
It is an utmost proudness of myself to have met these men, those lords that I salute, praise and admire.

The last time I saw someone get charged with misuse of a GPC he was busted from WO2 to Cpl, and then promoted to Sgt at the next promotion board. IIRC he had used it to buy fuel for his private car.
Give a man a fish and he'll feed his family for a day,
teach a man to fish and he'll sit round on a boat all day drinking beer.
14-03-12, 17:54 #6In Big And Expensive we were all given American Excuse as a company card (I actually refused the 'kind' offer). One guy was hauled over the coals becuase he had the temerity to buy a Mars Bar when he was paying for the hire car fuel.
PS Anyone tried to buy a meal in the local greasy spoon or Indian using American Excuse? Won't happen!

Why is it acceptable to cry at a wedding but not to laugh at a funeral?

14-03-12, 18:30 #7"Administrative Error" - bollocks. As a relatively savvy individual Andy should have know better than to try this kind of game. He is far from stupid and deserves everything he gets, he's broken a simple rule and been dishonest, deserves a custodial sentence then to be dismissed with his reputation shredded, if not it sends a message to other people that its ok to try it on.

14-03-12, 22:03 #9I know that I'm an old bugger but can anyone tell me why these credit cards are given out ?
14-03-12, 22:30 #10As someone who actually knows Andy and has served on board two war canoes with him I can honestly say that I am absolutely shocked by this. This is completely out of character for him. Obviously I'm not, and never have been, privy to the information that the court has, but I am very, very surprised at this. Away from the subject slightly; the most competent PWO I've ever worked with and a real asset to the RN. I really hope they keep hold of him.
