It is with sadness that the Ministry of Defence must confirm that a Gunner from 34 Squadron Royal Air Force Regiment was killed in Afghanistan yesterday, Thursday 1 October 2009.

The Gunner was killed as a result of an explosion that happened whilst on a force protection patrol near to Camp Bastion in central Helmand province yesterday afternoon.In Vino Veritas

ETERNAL PATROL - CPO KEN 'GINGER' PETERS
Ken (Ginger) Peters passed away on 28th September last from possible pneumonia complications after a recent stroke. Ken was a long serving RN Submariner, in the communication branch and served on HMS Truncheon, HMS Amphion, HMS Seascout, HMS Odin and HMS Warspite.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to his wife Joan and family.
The funeral will be next week from Modbury North, SA, details to be advised.

A soldier from the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards died in an explosion near to Nad e-Ali district centre in central Helmand province on the morning of 5 October 2009.

A member of the Submariners Association has “Crossed the Bar on his Last Patrol. Trevor Shaw belonged to the LINCOLN branch.

crossed the bar a month ago after crashing his motorbike on his way home from faslane
He mainly served on 's' boats his last patrol on HMS Sceptre

The serviceman, from 1st Battalion The Coldstream Guards, died in an explosion near Camp Bastion in Helmand Province on Thursday morning 8th October 2009
His family have been informed, the MoD said.
Lieutenant Colonel David Wakefield, spokesman for Task Force Helmand, said: "He was one of us, one of our own, and we will remember him."
The soldier's death takes the number of British troops who have died in the Afghan conflict since operations began eight years ago to 221.In Vino Veritas

It has just been reported to me that J Wilson L/Sto C/KX118617
crossed the bar on Sunday 11th.The
funeral is at 1330/Thursday 15th in Lynn Crematorium, Glasgow.
Boats served in Oberon, P555, Spirit, Trident, Sealion.
