You don't know him, you only played the triangle when you were green!

I didn't attend his funeral but wrote a nice letter saying I approved of it.

It is an utmost proudness of myself to have met these men, those lords that I salute, praise and admire.

If it's "wee D******T" then we're thinking the same bloke. I think he was attached to the STC for a while.

In my experience genuine Walter Mitty's tend to emulate credible icons in the Armed Forces, such as erm, Chief Stokers, for instance.

This particular guy, no tache, late 30's, about 5'10/11, light brown hair, no frock, appears to frequent a venue where everyone emulates something they are not, so my guess is it's a brilliant double bluff & he's an undercover stoker pretending to be a Royal Marines Commando.

    Works every time, Watson.

Funnily enough I sometimes dress as a chief stoker, but then I am as loopy as a fruit bat and taking suppressant medication.
What times your nurse come around Ninj? My fuckin frock don't fit me anymore.

Airsoft and an Ex Royal/Speshul Forces? Sounds entirely credible to me.
Now if you said he was claiming to be RAF Reg I'd have to raise a sceptical eyebrow at the very least
