Hayfever - as long as you don't get wheezy with it, haven't required steroids and haven't had to take time off school/work with it then shouldn't be a problem. Certification from your GP may be required.

Re: RM Medical Examination
I have a question i was deffered from the army because of a fit i had when i was 12 years old it was nto epeleptic or whatever, nore the docters could find no reason for it happening and told me it was a one off.
the army medical criteria stated that i was applicable to apply if the fit was over five years ago. which it was not because it was like a month from 5 years. could i some how find out if the royal marines would take me if it has been 5 years do they have the same medical criteria?
please help thank you!

Mind you if you had a Wallace and a Grommet in there you could face some problems I suppose!

I have had two Medical Examination for the RN.
First one.. the Doc didn't touch Craig Jnr at all and just made me cough when he was checking around the stomach area. The Doc just asked if I check myself regularly for testicular cancer.
Second time.. The Doc made me jump up on the bed and then he pulled my boxers down. He had already done the hernia check. He just checked for testicular cancer and any other abnormalities... so he said!
Don't worry about it, it takes 30 seconds max!

They just have a really good handfull on your balls and cock and smother them with a warm jelly... more than likely a man too matey and you just need to cough and then he will pull your rod and test your skin pulls back properly and gives it a good handfull..... oh and it takes about 10 minutes just on that area of your body, dont listen to other times people give like 30 seconds... total nonsense!

Sounds just like a service I paid for one pleasant evening many years ago in Wanchai. Except it was with a lady of unknown Asian origin. And I didn't last longer than a few minutes. Not that I told the boys that of course, oh no. To them, I was the stud of the South China Seas!

The same standard applies: if you've only had one seizure and it was more than 5 years ago and you don't take any anti-epileptic medication then you have nothing to worry about.Opinions stated are those of a Service Medical Officer acting in good faith and a personal capacity.
