10-05-12, 21:03 #12Stand down lads. I've just entered, so that's one less book you have a chance of winning.
12-05-12, 18:23 #13Bump - closes tomorrow at midday.
14-05-12, 08:48 #14WINNERS & ANSWERS - The Dead Season
The winners of the latest book, The Dead Season are:
- stokers-plaything,
- scuba-angel,
- feisty-one,
- sluice-dweller,
- witsend
Now I realise that a certain member will soon be gloating about winning (again!) but I would just like to point out that I have nothing to do with the draw!
(Note to wits - keep the envelopes coming £50 per paperback book is a bargain!!
)
Congratulations, I have emailed you for your contact addresses and the sooner you get back to me the sooner the prize will be with you.
The answers are:
Q1 Ponte Vecchio = Old Bridge
Q2 Florence in Italian = Firenze
Q3 La Gioconda was painted by Da Vinci

Sh1t shot, pumping slop.
14-05-12, 10:02 #17might consider a name change...witsend seems like a winner.
Time off watch not in bed is time wasted.
To err is human...to arrr is pirate.
14-05-12, 10:31 #18One of the reviewers told me that they now have a copy of the book so have asked for it to be reallocated to I got another number drawn and the lucky person is pussers-hard. (I take it that that is a nautical not porno-graphical term)
14-05-12, 10:48 #19Pussers hard is/was naval issue soap, it looked like solidified beeswax and was totally impervious to water.........and I still reckon I wuz robbed.
Sh1t shot, pumping slop.
