Medical - eye test

Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I'm just curious about if anyone's 'failed' their eye test and what happens if you do!

I currently haven't got the correct vision to drive but I'm not miles off (just a rough idea for you)

    Thank you :)

Anyone not meeting the eyesight standard after taking the service eye test will be sent a letter stating they are unfortunately ineligible to join.

Those contemplating laser surgery will be given a letter detailing specific parameters that must be met. Some of those include the minimum pre-operative prescription accepted, the types of surgery not accepted and the supporting evidence required. If those criteria can be met, the individual must be over age 22 and 12 months clear of surgery.
