3L - was in that Mess on the Argonaut and the only Leander I served on that was a Comms Mess. The others were 3M Stbd Cleo, 3M Stbd Penny and 3K on Cherry B.
3L was a great Mess and always sought after by other JR's.The communications branch is the finest in the Royal Navy which in turn, is the finest service in the world.

Real Sparkers apart from Sea Time did envy a drft to Portishead Radio (Burnham W/t), a much sort after draft but not many got there!!! I was grateful for 2 drafts there and was the last Pussers Sparker there in 1972, A Speed Key was a requirement to keep up wiv the big boys of the Merchant Fleet.
20% Pusser tfc and the rest from the Merchant Navy from all Nations. A Pleisure to take up to 60 QTC's or more from the QE2, Oriana, etc..................Best Sparker job whilst I was in the mob 1963-1989..........73's to all real sparkers, Mick "R"NAVY ? WHAT BLOODY NAVY !!!!
