I've not heard of this - not surprising really, CHF are Navy when it suits 'em and Army when it don't! Seeing the recent fait accompli concerning 24 Regiment sprung by the Army, nothing surprises me any more.
i think you will find that all RN CHF are proud of the RN and FAA and will defend the RN and FAA whilst detached. also i dont know of any royals that will claim whilst wearing their green berets that they are army.
its good to know we are all considering op sec in the internet

That depends on how it's viewed. Is the Carrier simply a means of projecting air power and just happens to be a Naval warship or is it a Naval capital ship that has the air assets as part of its equipment fit? I suggest that CINCFLEET would see it as the latter and PJHQ the former.
Steady on Dhobes - for a grocer those are strong words, especially from a non-warfare branch. Keep the aircrew rations coming!

You know when the aircrew on a flight get on well with their maintainers. The aircrew nutty seems to filter down to the hanger.

Rumour going round on PPrune that CHF is going to stand up a Merlin squadron using airframes bumped from the Danish/Portuguese orders. Manned mainly by Culdrose crews but with a Jungly LH seat.
www.pprune.org/forums/...p?t=246393
Great to have a bit of relief for the SK4 crews, but is it permanent or is it the temporary PFI mooted some weeks ago?
Anybody shed any light?

As usual when the going gets tough the Somerset boys turn to the Kernow ratings to bale them out.

Given the serviceability rate of 820's a/c on Vela, I don't believe the 'Kernow Ratings' will bale anyone out!

But of course there's still no justification or logical reason for the RN to have full control of their own organic air assets like Sea Harrier.
That depends on how it's viewed. Is the Carrier simply a means of projecting air power and just happens to be a Naval warship or is it a Naval capital ship that has the air assets as part of its equipment fit? I suggest that CINCFLEET would see it as the latter and PJHQ the former.

Basically the WAFU's are a tri service branch who just happen to wear a navy uniform (after a fashion)...

The only time filtered down on 771 was when the duty crew had a shout at weekends and left the nutty locker open upstairs.
